Bullying is NOT a problem.

Like so many things that are, at first, perceived as problems, bullying is but a symptom of a larger problem. And, perhaps, there are some band aids that can be applied to the symptom, but they will not solve the problem, and the symptom can erupt again, at any time.

Bullying is an overshoot, an excess, of competition. Competition is based on the false notion of zero sum thinking, the belief that in order to win, someone else must lose.

Our culture, and all wannbe western cultures are based on competition for things perceived to be scarce. Competition is self defeating, because competition CREATES scarcity.

Imagine how much cheaper food could be if food producers did not compete for "market share"... Imagine if the budgets and know how of the military (the ultimate competitors and bullies) were put towards COOPERATIVELY feeding, clothing, and housing the world population. There would be NO scarcity.

The time has come to stop teaching our children how to compete in a world in which their actions make things scarce, and instead teach them to COOPERATIVELY CREATE ABUNDANCE.
