The problem with remote learning is not intrinsic to remote, but rather to what is being taught, and how. We have lost sight of the reason for learning so a lot of effort and time is spent on maintaining "engagement" rather than actually teaching/learning. Students are being taught to take a place in a system that is destroying humanity and the Earth, when they should be learning about the system and its righful place and behavior within the Earth's living systems.
Remote learning has revealed this flawed definition of "education" to many parents, who are now beginning to vaguely understand why our culture has shuffled off the responsibility of teaching to "experts". Foisting teaching off on "experts" is something that has happened only in the last split second of human evolution. It happened when education became about what one "does" rather than what one "is" and how one "fits".
